In Reply To Need Clutch Disc Advice posted by -Grimm- on July 19, 2011 at 05:54 AM

Message The clutch pressure plate clamp force is what allows a certain disc to hold the power once fully engaged.
More power requires a heavier clamp load plate.
Different disc material will have more or less bite to allow engaging at higher RPM or offering longer wear.
A used pressure plate will typically be glazed, this is because when a clutch wears out, it slips badly and creates heat that makes the pressure plate and flywheel metal harder and distorted.
The use of a glazed pressure plate and flywheel, will cause a new disc to slip at a lower power level.
It is best to change the clutch as a system for the best results.
We will sell any disc we make by itself and any pressure plate by itself.
If you call or email, I will be happy to help you make the best choices for your needs.
